For Pilates professionals who have already completed a previous Comprehensive training and for POLESTAR comprehensive Trainer wanting to refresh or refine their abilities.
The Transition Program offers you the ideal compact and Inexpensive way to do so. As a participant in the transition program You will experience an intensive training with written, Oral and practical tasks. Bridge your previous Pilates education with the Polestar curriculum for both Studio and Rehabilitation programs. With this program, you may leverage your Pilates experience to complete assignments, prove self-mastery, and to complete the Polestar exam.
The POLESTAR Comprehensive Transition Training includes:
- Web-enhanced learning: Access to online support materials
- Labs (doing, observing, teaching)
- Problem solving (utilizing case studies and deductive reasoning)
- Hands-on teaching (group and individuals)
- Assessment skills
- Principles of neuro-linguistics (modeling, sequencing and structuring information, maintaining appropriate learning states)
- Graduate of a reputable Pilates education organization* in a comprehensive program covering a combination of Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel and Mat work
- Knowledge of basic anatomy/physiology
- To qualify for the Rehabilitation diploma, you must be a licensed or certified health care professional (MD, PT, DO, DC, ATC). All other applicants qualify for the Studio diploma.
REQUIRED HOURS Aside from course hours, there are additional hours required for graduation and qualification of PMA Certification examination. Observation, apprentice teaching, and self-mastery hours are the responsibility of the student to complete outside of the course. A percentage of these hours can be completed using online support materials.

Birgit studied Tänzpädagogik at the Academy of Music and Drama and was engaged as a dancer in various Theatres. Since 2005 in Cologne as a Pilates trainer for Mat, Allegro and Studio in, Springs’ and the Center for contemp. Dance ‘of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Many years of experience as a dancer, as well as training in different movement techniques and in dance medicine and Spiraldynamik incorporated into her lessons. Birgit is a member of “tamed”; Tanzmedizin Germany e.V.
Physiotherapist since 2001, Pilar worked in rehabilitation structures in Spain until she made her training with POLESTAR in Rehabilitation in 2009 and Mat in 2010. Pilar leads her own physiotherapist and Pilates Studio in Paris, Harmonie Studio Pilates, since 2013, where she combines rehabilitation with Pilates and focuses on post-natal and functional rehabilitation. She’s really happy to be part of the POLESTAR European Team as Educator in Rehabilitation since 2015, and she also cooperates with frech physiotherapist schools.
Former gymnast, universal graduated sports teacher, POLESTAR Pilates educator, owner of Pilates House Dortmund. After 13 years of fitness industry, she opened in 2006 her own Pilates studio in Dortmund. Since 2009 Pilates Polestar Educator for Studio. In education for osteopathy.
Shelly Power is the co-founder of Polestar Pilates Center and a Polestar Educator who has taught for Polestar Education since its inception in 1992 and currently coordinates the Curriculum Committee.
Shelly teaches nationally and internationally for Polestar Pilates Education and also administers exams, conducts Pilates workshops and Polestar Mentor and Educator trainings worldwide and brings a unique and fresh approach to the work of Joseph Pilates. Shelly is certified in GYROTONIC®, having trained with Angela Crowley and has completed the first year of Franklin-Method® training with Eric Franklin. She has been a member of International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS) since 1996, is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance, and a Certified Pilates Teacher.
